We're losing our democracy because average people hate their average lives, watch celebrities and influencers drowning in dollars seemingly without any skills apart from bending over for people like Trump to open a few doors for them. Simultaneously, they are pushed through bad, underfunded public schools and end up miserable and debt-ridden. Of course they'd vote for him in a situation like that. In their shoes, I would too. They've got nothing left to lose. This is an America where the Kardashians are treated as the new Kennedys, just with better boobs. Liberals did that. They persuaded you it's better to be Miley Cyrus than Maya Angelou. Unless they go back to their own ideological roots -which have nothing to do with identity politics! - they are doomed. Because right now, those are appropriated by the Republicans. For whatever reason, liberals are unable to see this. It's their fault. They alienated their own voters. Now it's payback time and they had it coming.
