The whole campaign was a trainwreck from start to finish. After the failed asassination attempt(s), my thought was that it was a called election even before the votes were cast. Biden was stubborn, surrounded by people who didn't have the guts to sit him down for a difficult conversation, kick him out of the race and give someone younger and fresher more time and a better chance. It took a disastrous debate and public pleas for him to give up and by the time Harris replaced him it was already too late, because skipping a regular primary was a political suicide. They kept talking about a woman's right to control her own body, yet they didn't insist on their voters having the last say who gets to run against Trump after Biden unceremoniously excused himself. I'm not an American so I can't vote anyway, but with all the unfortunate coincidences, Kamala simply didn't stand a chance and it could have been even worse. The only silver lining is that he can't run again. Democrats need to sort their own many internal issues, a deep purge. From Obama to Hillary to Pelosi and Biden, everything was a chain of mistakes. If they want to have a future, these people have to go. Tough love without trigger warnings. Enough is enough.
