Rose McGowan appropriated this historical narrative from the black activist Tarana Burke, she couldn't even come up with an idea of her own. It's a curious coincidence that many people whose careers were affected by the #MeToo achieved levels of fame and success this B-list actress and former partner of Marilyn Manson couldn't dream of. And in order to boost their own credibility, other actresses, most of whom were more successful than her, felt compelled to join in, turning activists into fashion accessories they paraded with at the Oscars. None of them ever really care for anyone but themselves. It's likely most were aware of what Weinstein was doing but as long as keeping quiet was pragmatic, they didn't mind. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.
