It really depends on your perspective. I live in a country the system of which is built on corruption and nepotism and you need connections to land even a basic cleaning job at the city hall, while the average wage is 400 Euros on which you can only feed yourself, forget about a family. Yet compared to the West the weather is pleasant, nature more or less unspoilt, the air clean and healthy food affordable. Poor countries like this are a great place to live if you earn a foreign paycheck, otherwise you're f**ked. You're existentially blackmailed into keeping quiet about nasty things if you want to survive. Which is why young people move out and in the near future this place will be Europe's largest retirement home.
