In countries like former Yugoslavia (Sarajevo, 1985), without major events like the Olympics large and important infrastructure (including public transport, trains, airports) or enduring visual design legacy, would hardly ever be built and still in regular use today. This is why Olympics should focus on places that need the infrastructure instead of places like Paris where they already have lots of it anyway.
