I'm talking about the poison of "diversity" used as a moneymaker so much that it's completely counterproductive. There's natural diversity and than there's the checkbox kind. I live in a city that used to have a high rate of mixed-confession marriages in my country. There was a military conflict (long story) and now you've got Washington and the EU trying to teach us how to diverse again, which is BS because it's supposed to happen gradually and naturally otherwise it will just be a huge money-laundry scheme and that's exactly what happened. 30 years on, we're again diverse but pretend we're not because it keeps the money coming in. The same is true for Disney. Mermaids aren't real, we all know that. What is real though is that they're riding the PC train to appease virtue-signalling liberals and treat every opportunity into a political sermon. I've seen theater plays about "mixed" groups of characters as if that would ever solve our problems. If you don't see that's exactly what the seemingly innocent Hailey is doing, you're incredibly gullible. The Oscars work the same way and it's no secret at all what categories and groups your film must cover in order to be considered for a nomination. That's the ONLY reason why we have modern reinterpretation of classic Disney characters. And my disapproval has nothing to do with nostalgia but the rules of the game.
