I'm a little bit sick of all the praise and applause various -isms, including feminism are getting. Not because it's a bad idea-quite the contrary!-but most people are selfish opportunists who pretend to fight for a cause while throwing their opponents under the bus along the way in order to achieve their goal for which human rights are nothing but a rather predictable affront. And if you dare to drag them out of their cushy comfort zone, you'll see they don't fight for empowerment but power. Not yours, but their own, to allow them to do as they please without consequences. So as soon as you run into an an overenthusiastic feminist, watch out for your wallet and run away. This is first-hand experience. And one of many, if you're working in the NGO sector.
