Empowering is about power, and power is about money. If you're broke, you can't be a free thinker. There are only a few scenes in the whole show where the patriarchy is also displayed as something women exploit for themselves because they want that Birkin bag without having to work for it. Instead, they'll let a sugar daddy pay for it. The biggest sin of the modern feminist discourse is ghosting the fact that there are in fact women on the hunt for the the biggest fish in the money pond. They might even be the majority. And that their perspective of power has nothing to with the culturally predominant one whatsoever. But we always end up midway between the two in the end.
