Democracy isn't lost, your notion of it just has little to do with reality. To quote Socrates: democracy is a system where two fools have an advantage over an individual who's trying to do the right thing. That's why even back then,it was dead on arrival. It's not a question if his accusations are legitimate because they are. It's the timing that makes the whole thing suspicious because politics is about opportunism and power after all. You can get away with hideous war crimes if you got enough power in your corner to shield you from consequences. That's exactly what America is doing and that's not gonna change no matter who's in the Oval Office. For example, democracy isn't handing Kamala Harris the nomination without a proper primary. Even if it means she loses it to someone else, it's what they call due process. But what do I know, I'm not an American, but my country certainly is a victim of your clumsy, cruel and self-serving foreign policy. I don't care for Trump but I don't care for her either. Biden's embarrassing withdrawal is a living proof that America is governed by rich donors of political elites and their interests, not elected representatives. The single redeeming quality of Trump might be that he simply pulled down the curtain and exposed the western brand of democracy for the blatant lie that it is. Unfortunately, we have to make do with it because other alternatives lead the way to a very dark place no one should go to.
