Big cities tend to be exhausting and expensive. But If you moved from a small middle-of-nowhere-community and don't fit into their conservartive narrative, it doesn't get any better than NYC. I suggest you watch Grey Gardens, where the main character says she'd switch her dilapidated East Hampton mansion infested with stray cats for a single room in Manhattan any day. And I wholeheartedly agree. If there's no one to go home to but a pet, New York might be your best bet. The mind-numbing loneliness and borderline-suicidal anxiety are easier to handle than in a place like Miami, the place where rich white people go to die.
