As someone who is a published author, I'd rather have my books burned than re-arranged to sanitize their original form. After all, Knut Hamsun was an avid supporter of Nazis, but that doesn't mean his Nobel Prize wasn't earned. Caravaggio was a murderer on the run fron justice, yet his paintings are universally admired as peaks of visual art in Europe at the time. Genuinely brilliant art can survive the reputation of its creator.
